Torrequebrada Golf Club
The spectacular Torrequebrada Golf Club, situated in Benalmadena, twenty minutes drive from Malaga airport. Torrequebrada was built in a large gully running down the side of the Sierra Da Mijas Mountain in Andalucía Spain. Torrequebrada boasts a very modern clubhouse with huge glass sliding doors opening up into the trendy reception area with its walls covered in large black and white pictures of the late Seve Ballesteros. A fantastic restaurant and its large wrap around balcony offers the visitors majestic views down the homecoming holes and out to the Mediterranean.
The first hole leads the players away from the clubhouse up a pine tree lined par five leading straight up the mountain side giving the players one of the most picturesque views of the Costa del Sol. A unique feature of this course is the large mountain stream that winds itself down the mountain side to the sea, giving the golfers a sub-tropical jungle feeling on a few holes. Wide green fairways lift away from the naturally pooled up stream on other holes and the players need to strike their balls up to the palm tree encircled elevated greens. Perfectly manicured white beach sand bunkers are dotted around like pearls in the brilliant green of what is no doubt one of the most spectacular looking golf courses in Andalucía.
Designed by Jose “Pepe” Ganceda a resident of Malaga known as the “Picaso” of golf course designers & also a six time winner of the Spanish Championship and opened in 1976, Torrequebrada is rated as one of the best golf courses in Andalucía.
